Recommended semester: 4th -7th semester
Scope and form: The activities alternate between lectures, problem classes and hands-on Matlab exercises. Further, a miniproject is accomplished. Exercises and mini project are carried out in teams of 2-3 students.
Evaluation: Written exam and approval of reports
Written examination (2-hours) and approved exercises and miniproject. |
Examination: 13-scale
Previous course: 04361
Prerequisites: Advanced calculus and elementary statistics.
No credit points with: 04361. 04362
Participant limitation: Min. 10 Max. 70
Aim: To provide the participants knowledge of 1) fundamental and widely applied digital signal processing methods; 2) Matlab as a tool for development of signal processing algorithms; 3) the application of digital signal processors (DSP) for implementation of real time algorithms. The course thus enable the participants to construct a digital signal processing system. |
Contents: Signals and systems, signals with finite energy and finite power; signal sampling and reconstruction; frequency analysis of signals; discrete Fourier transform and FFT; correlation, spectra and stochastic signals; multirate signal processing; linear prediction and the Wiener filter; adaptive FIR filters; mini project concerning real time algorithms.
