Aim:  The aim of the course is to give a basic knowledge of the most important methods within applied statistics.
Contents:  Elementary theory of probability, statistical variables, mean, standard deviation and correlation coefficient. Important probability distribution as Binomial, Poisson and Normal distribution. Estimation, confidenceintervals and testing of hypotheses for one and two populations (one- and two-sided U-, t- and chi^2-tests). parametric and non-parametric methods of statistical analysis, including one-way analysis of variance, two-way analysis of variance, simple linear regression analysis.Parametric and non-parametric methods of statistical analysis, including one-way analysis of variance, two-way analysis of variance, simple linear regression analysis.
