| Aim: To impart knowledge of materials technology to the students, so that they after accomplishment of Engineering Materials 2 have got sufficient grounding for selection, processing and application of materials. |
| Contents: Crystal structures of metals. Microscopy on metals. Phase diagrams. Deformation of metals. Strengthening mechanismes in metals. Stress relief annealing and recrystallization. Mechanical testing. Heat treatment of steel: The iron-carbon phase diagram, TTT-diagrams, hardening, tempering, normalizing, spheroidizing, martempering, Forms of corrosion. Corrosion Protection. |
