Aim:  To give the participants a basic knowledge of the planning methods there are relevant when you are planning towns, settlements and infrastructure, including the transport system and energy supply. A desicive element is the site-analysis. The students are to assess the problems and find the appropriate technical solutions in relation to a specific neighbourhood.
Contents:  The theme is the interaction between city, citizens and infrastructure. The project deals with given local areas in the Greater Copenhagen Region, one rural and one urban area. Assessment of the possibilities of urban development within the given areas, evaluation of the impact of transport, design of transport solutions, assessment of the possibilities for local energy savings and local energy supply are all part of the project. There will most likely be a number of conflicts related to the areas, like urban densification exploiting local green areas or the siting of windpower plants.
Remarks:  The course is given in collaboration with CTT. Recommended in connection with the civil engineering and construction, energy- and environmal engineering preliminary programmes
