Aim:  To introduce the student to engineering geology problems in areas with geological conditions differing from those in Denmark. To qualify the student to sample, evaluate and present relevant geological information for engineering projects concerning houses, bridges, roads, tunnels, dams, reservoirs, harbours etc. abroad.
Contents:  Hard rocks, their formation, classification and physical characteristics, structural geology, geological maps, soils abroad, weathering and diagenesis, engineering geological investigation methods, geological raw material and environmental problems associated with their exploitation, caverns, tunnels, reservoirs and dams, problems with slopes, earth-quakes, engineering geological rock classification.
