Aim:  To give an introduction to the structural properties and possible practical applications of concrete and reinforced concrete. To make the student able to design basic structural elements and joints in close relation to current practice.
Contents:  Concrete as a material. Reinforcement. Serviceability limit state. Ultimate limit state. Design of beams subjected to pure bending, bending with normal force and shear. Columns. Slabs. Foundations. Continuous beams. Structural design. Prestressed concrete in the ultimate limit state.
