Scope and form: Seminars and group work. |
Evaluation: Oral presentation and approval of reports
|
Examination: Pass/fail |
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of Telecommunication systems and Teletraffic Engineering. Minimum requirements: specialised Master's students. |
Aim: To describe new directions in telecommunication systems, and introduce performance evaluation methods and resource management at high level. |
Contents: The course deals with performance evaluation and control of future telecommunication networks using stochastic modelling and simulation tools. The networks may include mobile and wireless networks (cellular, satellite), high-speed networks, Internet, intra-nets, B-ISDN & ATM (wired & wireless), intelligent networks, etc. The actual course content will depend upon and include the most recent problems, networks and tools. |
Remarks: The course is arranged in cooperation with Lund University. The course is also offered in the Ph.D. programme in Mathematics. |
