Aim: The expanding use of and influence by information technology accentuates the need for organizations to analyze new frameworks for their strategic development and planning. The aim is to present various methods (soft methods and creativity techniques) for formulating and solving planning problems both in private and public organizations. The methods focus on problems dealing with design, implementation and application of ICT's. |
Contents: The content of strategic planning. Group Decision Support Systems or soft methods: SWOT analysis, SODA. The future workshop, Scenario methodology, Strategic Choice Approach and Soft Systems Methodology. The concept of creativity. Creativity techniques. Creative problem solving. Finally the subject of multiple methods in the same strategic process is treated. Areas in tele communication and information systems are used as examples and possible report topics. |
Remarks: The course is given jointly by CTI and IMM. The course is also approved under number 02727. |
