Aim:  To supplement a knowledge of traditional and advanced high voltage cable technology and to give the students experience in application of methods for dimensioning and diagnosis of these cable types.
Contents:  The topics treated are:
- Design and application of paper / oil and XLPE cables.
- Thermal aspects under different load conditions.
- Cable accessories, joints and terminations.
- Principle and application of superconducting cables, GIS & GIL.
- Partial discharges in high voltage cables.
- Exercise 1: Diagnosis of 10kV DTU-cable.
- Theoretical approach on the formation of space charges in high voltage cables
- Exercise 2: Measurement of space charges
