Aim:  During the course the students obtain a thorough insight in biological, chemical and physical chemical processes and unit operations applied in waste water treatment plants. This theoretical understanding forms the basis for design of treatment plants
Contents:  The course emphasizes the theoretical understanding and the design basis for the waste water treatment processes for removal of soluble and particulate organic matter, nitrogen, and phosphorus, aeration / stripping of gasses, separation processes, and sludge stabilization and sludge dewatering. Industrial waste water treatment.
