Aim:  The course participants will:
a) Practise self-dependency and training in experimental work as a master student or an engineer.
b) Get insigt and skills related to an essential environmental problem in a developing country.
c) Practise field work in a developing country.
d) Develop skills for collaboration as an engineer within project groups in developing countries.
Contents:  An environmental problem of major importance in a specific developing country is selected. The participants select in groups specific topics within a theme. The group may investigate the problem and suggest preventive solutions, or propose appropriate solutions eventually including engineering design. A report is expected to include a literature survey as well as the result of experimental investigations.
Remarks:  Students shall do a 5-7.5 points special cours for specific preparation for the field investigations.
Students can expect to receive a grant for partly coverage of travel expenses.
