Aim: To give an introduction to the basics of plasma physics, the methods used to describe plasma and an understanding of the physical proporties of plasma. |
Contents: Definition of the plasma concept and of the characteristic plasma quantities. Charged particles in varying electric and magnetic fields. Plasma described by the fluid equations and by the magnetohydrodynamic equations. Diffusion, transport and conductivity. Waves and instabilities. The basic principles for a reactor based on fusion energy. Industrial applications. |
