Contents:  The course covers a wide range of subjects in the field of solid-state physics, optics, non-linear dynamics, and biophysics. The purpose of the course is to ensure that the Ph.D.-students in physics are well-informed in all areas of "low-energy" physics, also the areas they do not specialize in. The specific content of the course changes from semester to semester depending on the teachers and guests participating in the course and also depending on the interests of the participating students.
Remarks:  The course is an obligatory part of the Physics Ph.D. program.
