The course may be taken as a part of the required coursework for the PhD study. It counts as 20% of the required course work for Ph.D. The course will cover 8 - 10 topics from a broad range in optics. Each topic will be composed of basic material starting from previous courses in optics at the MS-level and will be carried forward to the newest research results. The topics may be partly selected on the basis of the research interests of the participants. The course takes place during a single week in the fall semester. The exact date will be announced at the start of the semester. The form of the course will be lectures by specialists in the particular topic supplemented by demonstrations and problem assignments. Presentation of smaller topics or problem solutions by the participants may also be part of the course.
