Kursusmål: At give de studerende et overblik over de mest interessante områder inden for heterogen katalyse. |
Kursusindhold: The content of the course will cover a broad range of topics within heterogeneous catalysis such as a surface science approach to heterogeneous catalysis, alloy catalysis, new processes, enviromental catalysis, etc. The course should for one part consist of a number of verb good speakers who each gives two lectures. The first lecture giving a general introduction and the second presenting the newest results obtained within their respective field. There should be roughly 10 such speakers. They should not write any notes but be prepared to send some key literature or reviews prior to their talks wich could be handed out to the students. The second part of the course should consist of seminars given by the Ph.D.-students participating in the course. They should present their research progoam for each other with either a demonstration or if possible a small exercise. The idea is to encourage a stronger interaction between Ph.D.-students within the field. The course should therefore move around the institutes wich are paricipating in the course throigh their Ph.D.-students. The course should be concentrated on a number of one-day meetings, where one or two invited speakers each gives two lectures. The afternoon will be allocated for Ph.D-students presentations. In this manner a total of 5 or 6 days are spend on the course besides reading. The final evaluation of the course would be a 30-45 minutes (+questions / discussion) presentation by each of the Ph.D.-students of new and hot topics within the field of catalysis. The content of the course would in this manner vary each time and the different participants in ICAT or other groups are welcime to come with suggestions for the program as long as it is of common interest of the surface science / catalyst community in a broad sense. |
