Aim: To give students an introduction to basic concepts in cryptography,
operating systems security and network security. |
Contents: Security concepts (confidentiality, integrity, authenticity, availability
etc.); symmetric cryptography (for encryption) and asymmetric cryptography (for key encryption and digital signatures); discretionary and mandatory access control policies (for confidentiality and integrity); communication protocols (for authentication, confidentiality and message integrity) and network security; system security and intrusion detection (including viruses). |
