Aim:  To give the students a practical understanding of the basic problems and concepts met in the area of Human-Computer Interaction, to present basic rules for usable design, to present techniques such as think-aloud tests, inspection, interview, observation and cardsort, and knowledge of when these techniques are most appropriate for use, and to enable the students to carry out a project in which user needs are taken into account in a reasonable way.
Contents:  What is user-friendliness? Operational definitions of user-friendliness. Basic design rules, illustrated by examples, in particular from the Internet. Choice of design strategies, which can ensure a user-friendly design. Techniques for the development of a usable design. Practical exercise: To perform a think-aloud test with subsequent report.
Remarks:  The course is composed of alternating periods with theory and projekt work. The theoretical part of the course is based on lectures. The remainder of the course consists of project work. Attendance is mandatory throughout the course
