Aim: - Analyzing a problem with the purpose of digital realization - Selection of tool - To obtain knowledge of programmable logic from PAL's to CPLD's and FPGA's - To put a student in a position to construct a computer or some parts from a computer by means of own digital realization - To put a student in a position to develope testsoftware for testing own hardware constructions. |
Contents: - Realization possibilities at larger digital designs. Design-description tools. - Logic families, Clock strategies. - Possibilities for test. Test built into the design. - Planning of a larger design. - Construction of a computer by means of a known microprocessor. - Memory-systems, I / O - parts, Interrupt and DMA. - Timer circuits and other dedicated I / O-circuits. File- and Memory- control systems. Device drivers. - Testing and fault-finding computer-systems |
