Aim:  The purpose of the course is to make the student able to develop client / server systems using primarily the java programming language. This includes understanding of different principles for distributed responsibility, distributed object models and collaborative systems
Contents:  - Client / server models
- Thick / thin clients
- Architectures: 2, 3, N-tier
- Object oriented methods for client / server design: classes, sub systems, collaboration
- Network programming: URL class, socket class, socket programming
- Remote Method Invocation (RMI)
- Database servers
- Collaborative systems
- Distributed object models
