02453 Applied Digital Signal Processing
Danish title: Anvendt digital signalbehandling
Language:  English    ECTS-creditpoints:  5
Type:  , open university
Class schedule:   Forår
Exam schedule:   No exam
Recommended semester:  4th -7th semester
Scope and form:  Independent projects in groups of 2 students. The subjects are selected within the scope of 02451.
Evaluation:  Approval of coursework/reports
Examination:  Pass/fail
Previous course:  04363
Prerequisites:  Elementary digital signal processing
No credit points with:  04363 / C4233
Participant limitation:  Max. 30
Aim:  To solve a digital signal processing problem by using Matlab or signal microprocessors.
Contents:  Based on the subjects covered in 02451 Digital Signal Processing, each group of two students selects a project. Examples of projects are: Spectral analysis, correlation, Wiener filtering, adaptive filtering, multirate and multidimensional filtering, application of signal microprocessors. Algorithm is designed, implemented and tested using a general computer or on a real time system. The algorithm can e.g., be tested on speech, music or medical signals. Each group of students prepares a report.
Remarks:  This course and 02451 are basic courses in digital signal processing. Advanced courses are 02455, 02457. The weekday of project work is arranged with the participants. The first meeting is announced at the course homepage.
