Recommended semester: 4th -7th semester (civil), 5th or 6th semester (diplom) |
Scope and form: Lectures and exercises. |
Evaluation: Written exam
|
Examination: 13-scale |
Previous course: 80232 / 80201 |
Aim: To enable the participants 1) to select a processing method given the plastics material and the part geometri and use. 2) to select machine and tools from a processing viewpoint. 3) to analyze and plan the details of a processing. 4) to dimension machines and tools to optimise the processing. |
Contents: The most important plastics processes (continuous and batch) and their tools and machinery. Processing properties for plastics: rheology, viscoelasticity and thermal properties. Analysis and simulation of simple processing: Tools as heat exchangers, calculation of velocities, pressures and temperatures in tools and dies. Calculations of deformations and temperatures in membrane deformations. Analysis and simulation of the interaction of processing steps in plastics processing. Optimising and control of plastics processes. Environmental and resource issues. |
Remarks: Course developed by the Danish Polymercenter. |
