Aim:  Enable the students to:

a) characterize processes and groups of processes in order to determine realistic materials, geometric possibilities, tolerances and surfaces.

b) acquire a general knowledge about process possibilities, tolerances and surfaces.

c) Suggest relevant processes in a given production situation.
Contents:  The course deals with materials, general plasticity theory, cutting processes, non-cutting processes, plastics processing, joining processes, powder technology and casting. Basic process structures of material properties, process type, energy requirements, transfer media, surface formation and tool movement are considered.
Remarks:  Formerly 8001 Manufacturing Engineering Processes (Fundamentals). The course is taught in Danish.
