Aim: Enable the students to:
a) characterize processes and groups of processes in order to determine realistic materials, geometric possibilities, tolerances and surfaces.
b) acquire a general knowledge about process possibilities, tolerances and surfaces.
c) Suggest relevant processes in a given production situation. |
Contents: The course deals with materials, general plasticity theory, cutting processes, non-cutting processes, plastics processing, joining processes, powder technology and casting. Basic process structures of material properties, process type, energy requirements, transfer media, surface formation and tool movement are considered. |
Remarks: Formerly 8001 Manufacturing Engineering Processes (Fundamentals). The course is taught in Danish. |
