Aim: Eventually in their jobs almost all engineers will encounter projects that involve or give rise to legal problems. The aim of this course is to provide an outline of central parts of business law realignment, knowledge of basic principles of law and regulations, comprehension of the problems they regulate as well insight into legal way of thinking. The overall objective is to furnish participants with increased preparedness that will enable them to identify legal problems in connection with corporate activities, particularly with a view to preventive application of law in order to avoid conflicts. |
Contents: The course comprises the basic elements of business law: machinery of justice, indemnity out of contract, agreement, purchase, choice of law, international purchase, transfer of right of property, debt and claims, security in real property and movables, bankruptcy and liquidation, establishment of business, rights of employment, marketing, and advertising. In addition the course offers a more in-depth treatment of engineering specific legal topics like product responsibility, enterprise relations, intellectual property rights, patent law, and brand protection. |
