Aim: - To give contextual knowledge about social, economic, political and cultural factors of significance to environment and development in developing countries. - To give empirical knowledge about experiences and methods concerning a specific theme such as environmental regulation, cleaner technology, capacity building a.o. in the country, where the field course is being conducted. - Possibly to contribute to discuss in depth problems which are defined from the student assignments concerning environment and development in relation to a long-term field study. |
Contents: The course programme is fixed prior to each course run. It is conducted as an intensive 3 weeks programme at a foreign host university. Local and Danish staff contribute with lectures, excursions, group discussions and excercises. It is expected that the students present problems from their individual field assignment for plenary discussion. Thus, the course provides an opportunity for exchange of experiences witin the group of students, who currently conduct field work in the host country. |
