Aim:  The students should have a kocledge of the majority of the technological processes, should be able to devise process possibilities, make calculations for the most omportant process parts, and carry out method planning in the fields of machining, plastic deformation, shearing and welding.
Contents:  Machining: Method planning model, cutting data, working time calculations, machining economy, NC machine tools, introduction to CAM, fixtures and enviromental considerations.
Plastic deformation and shearing: Theory of plasticity, process description and choise, design possibilities, tolerances, tool design, calculation of power and work requirements.
Welding: The most important methods used in cutting, welding, brazing / soldering and gluing. Stresses and deformatins. Order of cutting and making welds. Selection of welding method based on material, structural design, financial resources, quality and environment.
Laboratory work: Welding, NC programming, CAMPUS database and Process database.
