Aim: 1) To give an understanding to the concept of quality and management of quality tasks in industrial companies. 2) To train the students in the application of statistical techniques (methods) in quality control and to identify and solve quality problems illustrated by short examples from industry. |
Contents: 1) Management of quality in industry: Total Quality Management (TQM), ISO 9000 standards, ISO 14000 standards. 2) Statistical tests and confidence intervals and their applications in quality control. 3) Inpection of lots. Acceptance and rejection of lots. OC curves. Sample sizes. Producer and consumer risks. 4) ISO standards for inspection of lots. 5) Statistical Process Control (SPC). 6) Regression analysis for finding the important quality parameters. |
