Aim: To provide knowledge of the basic chemical principles and give proficiency in theoretical and practical understanding of inorganic and organic compound chemistry including description of forms of energy and their interaction with chemical compounds. |
Contents: The periodic table, chemical bonding and structure. Reaction kinetics, inorganic and organic compounds and processes, organic syntheses and reactions mechanisms, states of matter. Qualitative analysis of inorganic compounds. |
Remarks: Core Science Elements in chemistry (5 points) and physics (5 points). The courses 26000, 26002, 26100, 26201 and 26400 are essentially included in the course. The course 26002 contributes 20% to the total evaluation of 26001 for chemistry students following the preliminary courses. Students with a B-level in chemistry will benefit from following the supplementary course 26020. |
