Aim:  To give theoretical and practical knowledge on inorganic chemical compounds and processes. To train skills in calculations on chemical equilibria.
Contents:  Theory: Atomic elements and their compounds. Occurrence, extraction, preparation, production, properties, structure, reactivity and uses. Illustration of the inorganic chemistry of selected metallic and non-metallic elements. Law of mass action, gas phase equilibria, ionic equilibria in aqueous solutions, concentrations and activities, solubilities, acid-base equilibria, pH calculation, buffer systems, complexation equilibria, redox equilibria and titrations.

Laboratory course: Practical exercises
to illustrate the inorganic chemistry of selected metallic and non-metallic elements. In practice each student performs a number of described illustrative operations and makes analysis of seven given samples.
