Recommended semester: 7th - 9th semester |
Scope and form: Instruction of the class and exercise in 2-3 persons team. |
Evaluation: Approval of coursework/reports
|
Examination: 13-scale |
Previous course: 36446 |
Prerequisites: 28250, 28351 or equivalent |
Participant limitation: Min. 6 Max. 15 |
Aim: To teach the participants to:
- Plan and execute start-up of the chemical plant.
- Apply a Distributed Control System for chemical plant operation.
- Simulation and documentation of operation of a chemical plant.
- Reason on process behaviour during start-up and operation. |
Contents: Introduction to a practical plant, e.g. an energyintegrated distillation column incl. measurement, control and safety supervision system. Calibration proce- dures for measurements. Construction of control loop diagrams. Introduction to plant control hierachy, incl. safety aspects. Introductin to the principles for how production planning and scheduling affects plant operation. Simulation of plant operation in selected operating regions. Operator controlled start-up, operation and shut-down are executed. In addition an automated start-up using e.g. Fuzzy Control is executed. The course report emphasizes the ability to reason on process behaviour during start-up and operation. |
