Aim:  To give the students a basic knowledge of the special disciplines characterizing the oil and gas industry, including economic activities in supplying companies.
Contents:  Exploration: Sediment geology, geochemistry and geophysical methods. Oil and gas production: Thermodynamics of hydrocarbons, reservoir engineering, drilling. Petroleum processing: Phase separation, gas processing, crude oil conditioning and processing, utility and safety systems, instrumentation and communication systems, quality control and management, corrosion and materials selection, offshore steel structures and topside facilities, environmental loadings, economics and decision.
