01259 Error Correcting Codes

Prerequisites:  Mathematic 1, Discrete Mathematics for Computer Science.
Aim:  To introduce the student to that part of communication theory that trats error correcting codes, both block and convolutional codes. Emphasis is put on the mathematics used in the theory.
Contents:  Linear Blockcodes, en-and decoding algorithms. Finite Fields, Reed-Solomon codes and list decoding, cyclic codes, Bounds. Convolutional Codes, Turbocodes and iterative decoding methods.
