| Recommended semester: 4th -7th semester |
| Scope and form: Preparation of a program and a report under supervision |
| Evaluation: Approval of coursework/reports
|
| Examination: 13-scale |
| Previous course: 57206, 12522 |
| Prerequisites: 57105 / 12520 elementary programming for example by use of MATLAB or another programming language |
| Aim: To give the participants experience in the treatment of more advanced hydrodynamic problems. |
| Contents: Longshore currents shall be described in far greater detail than in the Hydrodynamics course. It is particularly important to describe the bed friction in a combined wave / current motion (including the effect of the waves). A subroutine for a computer program shall be developed. Together with a description of the driving forces from the breaking waves this subroutine shall be used to develop a general computer program for longshore currents. In the second half of the course one or more specific aspects of longshore currents will be treated. |
