Aim: To give a thorough theoretical understanding of the flow processes in turbulent boundary layers, diffusion / dispersion processes in turbulent flows and the processes related to stratified flows. |
Contents: Processes in turbulent flows (energy and momentum transfers), properties of turbulent boundary layers, dispersion via diffusion, stratified flows, dynamics of and mixing in stratified flows. |
Remarks: The course is a merger of the former courses "Turbulence Theory" and "Environmental Hydraulics, Stratified Flows". |
