Danish title: Videregående fluid mekanik
Language:  English    ECTS-creditpoints:  7,5, External examination.
Class schedule:   F2-B
Exam schedule:   F2-B (maj 30 2002), E2-B (dec 13 2001)
Scope and form:  lectures and problem exercises
Evaluation:  Written exam and approval of reports
Examination:  13-scale
Prerequisites:  77256 / 41311 / 12520
Aim:  To accomplish an analytical and physical understanding of flows aiming at analysing practical and theoretical flow configurations including configurations involving heat and mass transfer.
Contents:  Derivation of Navier-Stokes equations and the energy equation on differential form as well as analytical and semi-analytical solutions of these. Physical properties of fluids. Continua-kinematics: Deformation fields, vorticity. Potential flows, boundary layers, flow in ducts. Convective heat and mass transport. Analogies between transfer of momentum, heat and mass. Buoyancy driven flows. Laminar / turbulent transition. Introduction to turbulence and turbulence modelling. Theories will be applied to solve industrial problems.
