41657 Mechanical Engineering Design
Danish title: Maskinkonstruktion 2
Language:  Danish    ECTS-creditpoints:  5, External examination.
Type:  open university
Class schedule:   E4-A
Forår
Exam schedule:   E4-A (dec 18 2001)
Recommended semester:  4th semester
Evaluation:  Oral presentation and approval of reports
Examination:  13-scale
Previous course:  94325
Prerequisites:  94315, 94920, 94320 (senest samtidigt)
No credit points with:  94325
Aim:  The aim of the course is to develop the students' ability and confidence to work through the complete design process, ending up with a feasible design solution.
This is done by using a systematic approach to engineering design, which means a splitup of the design process into main phases as "investigationof the need phase", "product principle phase" and "product design phase".
Also the students are trained in thoroughly communication of the results (reports and drawings) to third part technical colleagues and to workshops.
Contents:  The phases of the design process and techniques for analysis of problems, techniques for synthesis. The problems are related to more complex Machine Component Design. A major part of the course will be design of a product based on a specific product need. The design will be supported by use of CAD.
