Aim: Participants should gain practical experience in using basic and advanced experimental methods for characterizing materials and mechanical vibrations, deformation, strain and stress. |
Contents: Measuring deformations by using holographic interferometry. Measuring strain with uniaxial and triaxial strain gauges. Measuring material properties with a computerized tensile testing machine. Determining characteristics of mechanical vibrations by using strain gauges, holographic interferometry and FFT-based modal analysis. The laboratory exercises involve computerized data acquisition and digital signal and image processing. |
