Aim: - apply the laplace transform for analysing electrical circuits using transfer functions, poles and zeroes and frequency response (Bodeplot). - determine power in conjunction with periodic signals. - use a simulation program, at present PSPICE. - understanding the basic function og diodes and transistors. - derive small signal equivalent circuits for diodes and transistors, using typical component data. - analysing and designing simple rectifier and amplifier circuits - introduction to basic principles for feedback systems. |
Contents: - frequency response function for sinusoidal signals (Bode plot). - Poles Zeroes, transfer function. - Laplace transformation (non sinusoidal signals). - transient signals,RC- and RL- circuits - Resonant circuits - step and impulse response. - the diode. - the bipolar transistor, DC and AC small signal equivalent circuits, the hybrid pi equivalent. - the transistor as a switch with capacitive load - static and dynamic load lines, operating point, stabilisation og the operating point. - the transistor as a linear amplifier, distortion. - the FET, characteristics, DC and AC small signal equivalent circuits. - feedback and oscillators (principles) - the Schmidt trigger - the diode as rectifier. - zenerdiodes - measuring techniques. - documentation and reporting |
