Recommended semester: 4th -7th semester |
Scope and form: Lectures, group tutorials, and home assignments. |
Evaluation: Oral exam and approvel of coursework
The oral examination counts 2/3 and the assignments 1/3. |
Examination: 13-scale |
Prerequisites: 31400 / 10014 / 31480 The course requires a thorough basic knowledge of electromagnetics ( Maxwell's equations, plane waves, and transmission lines) and circuit theory. |
Preferred prerequisites: Knowledge about probability calculus and signal analysis is an advantage. |
Aim: The students must acquire a knowledge about the physical layer in wireless communication, which provides them with an understanding of systems and elements, and makes them capable of solving simple technical problems. |
Contents: Introduktion to wireless communication systems, transmitter and receiver, RF circuits and antennas, radiowave propagation, and modulation. |
Remarks: The course, which will be given for the first time in spring 2002, is open for M.Sc.-students from both the electrical engineering and technical physics preliminary four-semester programmes, and B.Sc.-students from the electrical engineering programme. |
