Aim: To give the students an understanding of measurements and instrumentation based on ionizing radiation applied in industry, the health sector etc., including health physical aspects. |
Contents: Radiation sources and the interaction between ionizing radiation and matter. Determination of radiation doses. Detectors and instrumentation. Radiation protection and medical applications of radiation. Radiobiology and dose limits. Dosimetry and protection of electronics in space are briefly treated. |
Remarks: The course includes 6 laboratory exercises. For each exercise a report should be written. The time for carrying out the laboratory exercises can be almost freely selected by the students. |
