Danish title: Praktisk mikroprocessorteknik
Language:  English    ECTS-creditpoints:  5
Type:  , open university
Class schedule:   F2-A
The laboratory work can be carried out also at other times than those included in F2-A
Exam schedule:   Arrange with teacher

Examination:  Pass/fail
Previous course:  50260
Prerequisites:  C4099 / C4501 / C4502 / C4504 / 50250 / 31050 A basic knowledge on the microprocessor and its interfacing with peripherals
No credit points with:  50260
Participant limitation:  Max. 32
Aim:  To give the students an understanding of the use of microprocessors and peripherals in instruments.
Contents:  First a few lectures are given on the properties of a microprocessor and on how to use it together with keyboards, displays, external storage media, AD and DA-converters. After having tested the microprocessor together with the peripherals in the laboratory, the student selects a project for construction. It may be an instrument that measures some physical parameters, performs calculations and transmits the result to a computer; or the microprocessor may control another instrument or an actuator based on the measured parameters. Finally, the results are described in a report.
Remarks:  Instead of the prerequisite above, a basic knowledge on microcomputer systems, digital systems, programming and components will suffice.
