Recommended semester: 7th - 9th semester |
Scope and form: Lectures, exercises, and project work. |
Evaluation: Oral exam and approval of reports
The weighting is 2/3 for the oral examination and 1/3 for the report. |
Examination: 13-scale |
Previous course: 48316 |
Prerequisites: 31405 / 48110 Wireless Communication or Introductory Electromagnetic Theory |
No credit points with: 48316 |
Aim: To give the students a field-theory based understanding of antennas which enables them to employ professional tools for analysis and design. Furthermore to provide practical experience through project work. |
Contents: Electromagnetic sources, method of images, equivalence principles, array theory, wire antennas, aperture antennas, horn antennas, reflector antennas, microstrip antennas. Analysis- and design methods for one or more of the above types of antennas will be investigated. The project work concerns analysis, desígn, and possibly measurement of antennas. |
Remarks: The course provides a good background for participation in special courses and master thesis projects in antennas and electromagnetics. |
