Recommended semester: 7th - 9th semester
Scope and form: Project course with practical as well as theoretical work.
| Evaluation: Approval of exercises and reports
|
Examination: Pass/fail
Previous course: 48420
Prerequisites: 31430 / 48110 Wireless Communication or Introductory Electromagnetic Theory. The course requires a thorough knowledge of antennas and radio wave propagation.
No credit points with: 48420
Participant limitation: Min. 4 Max. 8
Aim: The students must acquire a knowledge about measurement of antenna parameters in radio anechoic chambers, and a skill to conduct such measurements.
Contents: One or more topics within measurements of antenna radiation, polarization and gain; in particular, near-field measurements and near-field to far-field transformation.
Remarks: The practical work is conducted in the DTU-ESA Spherical Near-Field Antenna Test Facility, which is operated by ØRSTED.DTU in collaboration with the European Space Agency, ESA.
