Aim: On a field-theoretical basis to give the students an experience in formulating equations suitable for numerical solution. Furthermore, to enable the students to apply numerical methods to solve simple electromagnetic problems. |
Contents: Formulation of integral equations for electromagnetic fields. Solving integral equations with the method of moments. Formulation of differential equations for electromagnetic fields. Solving differential equations with the finite difference and finite element methods. Equation solvers. Application to the analysis of antennas, radar targets, optical diffractive structures and wave guide components. In the course work, specific problems are solved with the use of computer. |
