Aim: To give an introduction to calculation methods used by analysis of deposits of oil and gas.
Contents: A practical introduction to the use of basic methods for the analysis of oil and gas reservoirs. The course deals with properties of reservoir rocks, single phase in porous structures, capillary pressure, relative permeability, phase equilibrium and thermodynamic properties of hydrocarbon mixtures. Flow equations, simultaneous flow of phases in porous structures, methods for analysis of well test data. Displacement mechanisms in oil and gas reservoirs. The material balance equation and the use of it. Special production related properties in fields with fractured rocks. Use of simulation programs for reservoir studies. Overview of Danish oil and gas fields
