Aim: To improve the understanding of the principal problems of vibration and stability, and to enable the student to deal with complex vibration and stability problems in machinery and structures. To enable the student to recognize and analyse the most essential phenomena associated with nonlinear vibration and stability. |
Contents: The eigenvalue problems of mechanics, problems of vibration and stability, mechanical nonlinearities, forced nonlinear vibrations, perturbation methods, local geometrical theory, nonlinear stability, bifurcations, nonlinear parametric systems, autoparametric systems, chaotic vibrations in mechanical systems, diagnostical methods, predictive methods, quantitative description of chaos, spacial chaos. |
