| Aim: The course is supposed to be a basis for research and development through advanced application of physics and chemistry in bio-technology. Focussing on the protein aspects of modern molecular biology but with novel, material science ideas, the course should bring the students to the frontiers of modern biophysics |
| Contents: Protein modelling and structure prediction. Experimental methods for protein structure determination. Importance of proteins, protein structure, material science properties of peptidechains, sigma/pi orbitals, secondary structures, hydrogen bonding, protein classification, protein folding, side-chain packing, protein dynamics (intrinsic/ektrinsic), electron density calculations, protein conformation, DNA/RNA protein function, reaction kinetics, enzymatic networks |
