Aim: To give the participants some experience concerning the use of computers (work stations) for solving computational problems within the field of civil engineering and to make them capable of developing well documented computer programs for solving problems of a moderate size within the same field. |
Contents: Programming languages (elements of AWK and C++). Numbers and character strings (representation and precision). Representations of objects, problems and processes (data and program structures). Development of computer programs within statistics, matrix algebra, geodesy, structural mechanics and other engineering fields. Data exchange between programs. Graphical presentation. Properties of simple civil engineering structures. User friendliness (dialogue menus, data control, documentation). |
