| Aim: To make the student familar with the concept of structural equilibrium including the calculation of internal forces in statically determinate beams, frames and trusses. |
Contents: Co-planar force systems. Concepts of internal forces, determination of internal forces in plane beams, frames and trusses. Introduction to finite element method used on discrete systems. Principles of virtual work, influence lines.
3-dimensional force systems, determinations of internal forces in 3-dimensional frames and trusses. |
