Aim: To enable the students to:
- analyse situations and problems concerning environmental conditions,
- assess the consequeces of different impacts from society on the environment,
- select and implement environmentally sound solutions to engineering problems. |
Contents: Principles for the circulation of water and materials inside urban areas, catch- ment areas and other ecologically defined systems. Use of mathematical models inkluding computer models. Special topics are: Hydrological cycle, water intake and consumption, waste water production and handling, construction and function of sewerage treatment plants, impact from waste water outlets on natural waters inkluding problems with micro organisms. Environmental impact from deposits of materials in soil, air and waters. |
