Aim: To enable the students to
- apply a micro computer (PC) for writing, compiling and test of small programs.
- use an operating system (MS-DOS and WINDOWS) on a user level.
- work on fundamental problems in computer science.
- to apply a visual computer language (like Visual Basic or Delphi).
Contents: Short introduction to the functions of a typical micro computer (PC).
Introduction to the object oriented user interface of WINDOWS.
Introduction to object oriented programming. Objects and properties.
Event driven programming.
Basic structures of higher programming languages (Loops, branching, subroutines).
Fundamental data structures: stack, list and table.
Fundamental algorithms, sort algorithms,
Data representation, simple data bases.
